Do Realize The Power In The Social Media Revolution?
For quite some time I have realized the POWER in being involved with the Social Media Revolution.
I have been recommending my fellow network marketers to get involved. Some have seen the importance of getting involved while others have not. The ones who won’t get involved absolutely baffle me. I have heard several of my downline make statements like, “I don’t have time to play around on Facebook!”
Play around on Facebook?? Are you CRAZY?? Do you realize the incredibly powerful opportunity you are missing out on?
I knew Social Media was a powerful marketing tool but it wasn’t until I watched the video below that I realized just how powerful it is.
Watch this video. It is a MUST SEE!!
There are lots of Social Media Sites you could get involved with. Below is a list of a few important ones. I will include my profile links so you can connect with me on each one.

I have been using social media for about a year now and it has made a big difference in my business. People get to know, like and trust you, therefore they are more likely to do business with you. It is truly powerful as you said. Thanks Melodie!

Great Video. It is amazing how fast Facebook grew. A great place to build the know like and trust elements with people. I haven’t used Facebook enough, but I plan to.
The facts in the video were amazing to me. I can’t wait until others see it.

Hi Melodie,
I am a follower of you and enjoy all your business tips. Although I am not a MLMer, I think MLMer’s have the best marketing secrets of any business! Really enjoy this video and it was a loud reminder that I need to stay connected on FB. I was getting tired of the whole FB connection, hearing the same ole’ stuff over and over again, the approval seeking posts and obsession that so many of us have with this media group. It was driving me a bit nuts! I was crackin’ it up to just be another “fad”, either that or a repeat of High School all over again. This video reminded me of the possibilities and focus of being an active member on FB. So, after my FB break, I guess I have to join the ranks again. Thanks again Melodie for another great business tip!

Hi Diana,
I have times when I get tired of Facebook too but I would never get off of it. I know people who got tired of it and shut it down. I would never do that. My profile is there with links to my web site. People find that and click through the links. Your profiles can be working even when you are not online.
Always great insight Melodie. Thanks for all you share.

I know what you mean! I actually know someone who says the same thing. It’s great for connecting. I appreciate it so much because I used to do networking or connecting Manually… literally setting up networking parties / gatherings, exchanging calling cards… argh! With Social Media this has made it so easy to connect and get to know other people, with just a link other people can learn more about you.
Social Media is the venue, your website is your calling card, that’s what I’d say
Thanks for the input!

The internet (and social media) allows us to reach so many more people than previous marketing methods ever could.
The trick though, is to keep the old-school, hi-touch, relationship based techniques but apply them to new technologies.
MLMers who do this are highly likely to succeed.

Absolutely love this video! Had to watch it a second time for all that information to sink in – pretty awesome. I’ve been on Facebook for awhile and only dabbled on Twitter, but lately I’ve been focusing more time in those areas and a few others such as Linkedin. Definitely seeing the benefits!

Hi Marquita,
Yea. I loved it too when I first saw it. I have seen it several times. I am amazed by some of the statistics.
I have to smile when I remember the first time I ever heard of Facebook. I was not familiar with social media at all at the time, and I thought the invitation to become someone’s friend was a HOAX!!
My, how things have changed since that day several years ago. I have found so many friends and family members that I haven’t seen for decades. And I could not DO my home business without Facebook. It is absolutely essential, especially if you don’t get out and meet people a whole lot. Through Facebook I meet new people and establish relationships with them. Then we get together on the phone.

Social media is something that frustrates and baffles me sometimes, as I don’t want to spend more time than needed but often finding myself clicking link after link not being productive. There is some power in it on so many levels though I do see that.
I have to wonder if it is here to stay though, and lets say for example how long Facebook will stick around for either, sites are popping up and disappearing all the time, just look at Myspace they were huge now they have been shadowed by Facebook, who with blow by FB? Maybe google? It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they do.

Hey Melodie – Boy do I realize the power of social media. I am one of those 50 something females using it everyday. When my generation Y kids found out there BabyBoomer Mom was on FaceBook they where a little shocked. Yet, extremely supportive of my new venture. Now, they are learning from me.
For me, a network marketer with a full-time job as a flight attendant, social media is a life saver. There is no way I would be able to build my business without it.

My offline and online businesses both use all sorts of social media to connect. I’ve used social media to attract new people to my offline businesses and to make some great connections for my online business ventures. Melodie-
I too am baffled by responses concerning network marketing and i have listened to many people that refuse to move forward with network marketing. Using the disguise excuse of ” don’t have time to play around on FB”, usually the underlying cause is fear. When I began my journey with National Seizure Disorders Foundation and even earlier in my business career with Imperial Notes (investing in owner/seller carry back mortgages), I realized the general business world needs understanding and education. Many are afraid to step into the network marketing “jungle’ because it is a new concept and people tend to allow themselves to get easily overwhelmed. Keep up the good fight with patience and understanding. Soon you will see others listening to you and following in your network marketing footsteps.

The thing I find about those who do not use Facebook is they think they are entirely to spend time talking with family, friends and business contacts. I laugh when I hear this and someone says they are just trying to launch a business. Facebook is the most powerful tool for connecting with people quickly and efficiently. It is a very important tool and you are 100% right, that people are missing out on a great opportunity for connecting with people and building wonderful relationships!
Hi Melodie, I have to agree with you social media is a great opportunity to build contacts with like minded business people. It can be a great way to maintain frequent relationships with people in the past you might just have met at conferences for example. All the best Rosemary

I fully agree with you, Melodie. I was a strictly offline network marketer for 13 years, and having played in this arena for over a year now, I wish I’d known about it sooner! I personally find great value in combining the best of online and the best of offline. I do know a lot of people who believe that it is either online or offline, and there is no point in trying to steer them another way, so I understand what you mean about your team members who don’t see it.

We all need people to talk to if we’re going to build a network. And what better place is there to find the right people, than social media sites, where they’ve already identified themselves as your target market??
Facebook is my favourite, because there are so many ways to get to know people. And there are so many places on FB to find people who need the service I have to offer.

As for the need for social media… it’s something that can’t and won’t be denied from here on out in the world wide web.
Even Google (with the recent change of it’s Algorithm) dictates that it will be focusing on content that is socially accepted. This means, if you wish to be a force to be reckoned with from here on out… you must be socially accepted.
I predict a new wave of internet stardom right around the corner. With the internet now dwarfing older methods of media… it’s a new dawn of a new era!
